Found this inside the LP jacket, it translates as:

"Editor's Note on the selection
MAGNOLIA
(Side 2 Band 4)
Your turntable is not defective, as striped noise and sound defects
were recorded intentionally for greater similarities with the era of the twenties (1920-1930)"

A similar warning is found printed on the back of the USA version.
