RCA
Chart positions by RPM Weekly
Promotional sleeves were distributed weekly by RCA to hype their newest records.
Most had a short bio on the artist/music in English and French,
or they
had RCA's top 10 list for that week.
I believe these sleeves were only produced from January 1965 to April 1967,
with the year & week of distribution found on the sleeve
noted as "67- 8"; as in the eighth week of 1967.
These two non-Monkee picture sleeves mention their first singles:

This was a "Special" release.
Perhaps that meant a record that was rushed released,
as Don Kirshner
gave the tapes to RCA Canada and
they immediately
pressed
and distributed this single.
The CHUM radio station in Toronto Ontario,
listed the original
B-side for 2 weeks:
After this it was withdrawn,
and it no longer listed the B-side:
March
13, 1967 (#4)
The record was available to the public
for
2-3 weeks,
before it was withdrawn. For such a short release,
its surprising how easy it is to find copies for sale today.

RPM Weekly never changed the listing to 1004
(3 weeks at 1)
